KAMLOOPS — A 36 year old Kamloops man was arrested Monday for allegedly carrying a loaded sawed-off shotgun.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police were alerted to the man acting strangely near the corner of 6th Avenue and Seymour Street just after noon.

“Police attended and found a man rolling on the ground. He was acting confused and had difficulty communicating with the officers,” she says. “One officer noted that he was carrying a small baggie that appeared to have the residue of a controlled substance in it.”

She says the man was arrested and when his backpack was searched, police found a loaded sawed-off shotgun.
