KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops man who stabbed a man to death outside of a North Shore sushi restaurant in 2016 has been sentenced.

Eric Charlie was arrested in March of 2016 and charged with second degree murder in the January 22 stabbing death of 30 year old John Southwell.

At the time, Kamloops RCMP said Charlie and Southwell knew each other, and the stabbing came after an argument.

Charlie pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter, and in BC Supreme Court yesterday, received an additional three years in jail, over and above time already served.
