KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Salmon Arm are investigating an incident where shots were fired at an apartment unit.

Police were called to a building on First Avenue SW around 2:30 Wednesday morning, and confirmed multiple shots had been fired at one of the units.

“Shots hit the outside wall and through a window,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “Nobody was injured in the incident. Two individuals were witnessed leaving the scene in a light coloured compact car.”

Moskaluk says investigators have spoken to a male who was believed to be the intended target of two individuals who discharged a firearm into his residence.

“At this time police believe this to be a targeted event related to the local drug trade and have made this investigation a local priority.”
