KAMLOOPS — Motorists should plan a little extra time to get to work once rehab work starts on the Sagebrush Overpass in Kamloops next week.

Construction will start, weather permitting, on Monday, March 5, on the westbound side of the Sagebrush Overpass on Highway 1, between the Summit Drive exit and Columbia Street on-ramp. It’s expected to last four weeks.

One westbound lane on Highway 1 will be closed while the work is conducted.

“The project involves replacing the bridge joints on the overpass to keep the structure in good operating condition,” the province said in a news release. “The project will involve pouring new concrete, so motorists may not see crews on site while the concrete is curing.”
