KAMLOOPS — The Cariboo Regional District is backing a plan that would bring electric charging stations along the route from Kamloops to Haida Gwaii.

It follows a pitch from the Community Energy Association last week to the CRD board to bring electric car charging infrastructure to the 1,240-kilometre Highway 16 and 97 corridor.

The CRD will support the plan by writing a letter and committing $9000 to the collaborative project which is subject to a successful grant application to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities ‘Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program.’
