“The subject was last seen on Burfield Drive, at a residence there,” Mole said. “So, that’s sort of been where we’ve based the search out from, so between there and sort of in the immediate area of the village, sort of the west end of the village. But, our convergent volunteers are canvassing the entire village.”

Volunteers are looking for security footage that may provide clues as to where Shtuka went.

Mole says the cooler temperatures on the mountain impacts the level of urgency applied to the search.

“The environment is quite cold, and we have received snow, so we’re actioning the search in accordance with that high urgency to try and find him in the early stages of the search.”

KSAR is using drones in the search, looking for tracks in the snow, and the RCMP helicopter will arrive at Sun Peaks this afternoon.
