Blazers lose in last 30 seconds in Spokane

SPOKANE — Edmonton Oilers prospect Kailer Yamamoto scored with 28 seconds left in regulation time to lift the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers.

The loss further damaged the Blazers playoff chances, leaving them six points out of a wild card with 15 games left.

Joe Gatenby opened the scoring for Kamloops with his 12th of the season early in the first period.

Spokane scored twice to take the lead after the first.

Jackson Shepard with his 8th, tied it with under six minutes left.

Orrin Centazzo had two assists.

The Blazers return home to play Kelowna and Prince George this weekend.
