Weather continues to be a problem for travellers

KAMLOOPS — Weather continues to play havoc with us.

After a hectic day of rain, freezing rain and snow yesterday, Kamloops is looking at some relief for the long weekend, although it could be a little cool.

Not so good are the highways around us.

The Trans Canada is closed in both directions from Golden to the border because of a high avalanche hazard, and isn't expected to be open until at least the noon hour.

The Cariboo is still under a travel advisory in the Williams Lake area, and they've had freezing rain and black ice overnight from Clinton north.

Heading to the coast, the Coquihalla is open, but there is compact ice pretty much from Coldwater to Portia, so adjust your driving.
