Valanciunas with double-double, Raptors beat Knicks for fourth straight win
TORONTO — Prior to Thursday’s game Dwane Casey warned his team about playing down to a struggling opponent.
The Raptors got the message, thumping the New York Knicks 113-88 on the strength of another solid performance from the bench.
All five members of the Raptors’ second unit scored in double digits, led by Pascal Siakam who finished with 14 points six assists and five rebounds. Jakob Poeltl added 13 points and five rebounds while Jonas Valanciunas led the starters with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
“The starters didn’t have a rhythm tonight,” said Casey. “We’ve got to make sure we maintain (the starters) rhythm. Even though we’re winning, they’re an important part of our team so we’ve got to make sure we find (their) offensive rhythm. It’s been hard for them to get one, especially when they don’t go in that last quarter.
