KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have taken a number of guns from a notorious North Shore home as they investigate a weekend shooting.

The incident took place late Saturday night outside a home on Wilson Street.

A 26 year old man was taken to hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says investigators obtained a search warrant for the home and found several guns inside.

“Several firearms were seized from the residence and have been sent for forensic testing to see if one of them was the gun that was used in the shooting,” said Shelkie. “This will also help us determine if there is enough evidence to recommend charges, and against whom.”

Shelkie says the home is well known to RCMP.

She adds the motive for the shooting is unclear.

“At this time, we don’t believe there is any link between the victim and whoever it was that shot the victim. So we don’t know what instigated this.”
