KAMLOOPS — Jim Cotter is the first rink to qualify for the Page Playoff round at the B.C. men's curling championship --- but not before a few anxious moments.

The Kamloops native, who now skips his rink out of Vernon and Kelowna, defeated Sean Geall of Kelowna 7-6 in "A" final.

Geall trailed 6-2 after five ends, scored one in the sixth and then stole singles in three consecutive ends to tie 6-6.

Cotter then used the hammer in the 10th to score one for the win.

The Cotter rink will go into the playoffs as the top seed and play in the one-two game that will send the winner directly to the final.
