Collision closes Highway 1 in both directions from Revelstoke to Golden

KAMLOOPS —   R-C-M-P say a driver is dead following a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Revelstoke.

     Police say the crash happened yesterday involving a Ford F-150 and a commercial tractor trailer.

     The driver of the Ford died at the scene of the crash while police say a passenger was taken to Golden Hospital by ground ambulance.

     The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured and police say an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

The highway was closed for a time while the debris was cleared. It has since reopened.
