KAMLOOPS — Mounties are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a knifepoint robbery in Chase — the third robbery to hit the community in the past 10 days.

Chase RCMP Cpl. Scott Linklater says it occurred Wednesday night at around 7:30 p.m. at the PharmaChoice Food and Drug.

"An unknown male entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded money from the clerk," he says. "After receiving the money, the suspect left on a bicycle travelling westbound on Shuswap Avenue. The clerk was shaken from the incident but uninjured."

Linklater describes the suspect as white, about 5'8" and of average build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, jeans and a blue bandana covering his face.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Chase Detachment at (250) 679-3221 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.

Linklater adds investigations show the trio of robberies over the past week-and-a-half  "are unrelated and committed by different, unconnected suspects."

Collision closes Highway 1 in both directions from Revelstoke to Golden
