KAMLOOPS — If you have any information regarding last weekend’s tragic snowmobiling accident near Barriere, Mounties would like to speak with you.

On Sunday afternoon, Barriere RCMP received a report that a snowmobiler near Harp Mountain had fallen into a creek bed and became pinned under his snowmobile, leading to the death of the 53 year old Kamloops man.

Police and search and rescue resources were deployed to assist the man but he died later that evening.

“At the time of our call out in activating SAR technicians, we were aware that there were several snowmobilers that were in the area, in the Harp Mountain area at the time of the incident,” says South East District RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
