KAMLOOPS — It's all smiles up at Sun Peaks today as the mountain is celebrating the grand opening of its family practice health facility.

Mayor Al Raine says several dignitaries will be on hand for a ribbon cutting and the unveiling of its donor wall.

"As you're well aware this was made possible by funds raised here in the community, so we're going to honour the people who donated their money and time," said Raine.

He adds the health clinic, which opened last month, has already exceeded expectations.

"I think we're in the 20-to-25 patients a day range and that's well ahead of our forecast and well ahead of what Dr. (Shane) Barclay thought we were going to do."

Raine adds the clinic, which is currently open four days a week, will likely extend its business hours to five days a week later this winter.

Wintry conditions to return to Kamloops
