KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Airport took precautionary measures this afternoon when an Air Canada Jazz flight bound for Calgary was forced to return.

Airport Manager Heather McCarley says fire crews were called out to the airport around 2 p.m. ahead of the flight’s landing.

“They returned for a maintenance issue, and called for a precautionary landing,” McCarley said. “Our airport fire crews were on hand for the landing, as was Kamloops Fire Rescue. It landed safely and was returned to the apron.”

No word on what the maintenance issue was.
