KAMLOOPS — Two Williams Lake residents are facing charges following a New Year’s Day assault.

Williams Lake RCMP Cst. Andrew Waters says 26 year old Blake Johnny, a man he terms a prolific offender, has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. Johnny has been remanded in custody and will next appear in court by video on Jan. 24.

31 year old Eliasha Norlander has been charged with robbery and was released on strict court conditions. She will also appear in court Jan. 24.

The charges follow an assault on New Year’s Day outside a convenience store on Mackenzie Avenue which sent one man to hospital with stab wounds.
