KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Search and Rescue volunteers were called out briefly last night, but it turns out their assistance wasn’t needed.

Volunteer Search Manager Alan Hobler says the call came in at about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

“There was a motor vehicle accident with a single occupant north of Kamloops Lake near Savona. The individual was driving some of the back roads and slid off the road and rolled his vehicle,” said Hobler.

“He did have cell phone contact initially but then he lost that. We knew he was hurt, but (BC Ambulance Service was) unable to locate him, so we were called out.
