Blazers make blockbuster trade with Everett

KAMLOOPS — The Blazers have made a blockbuster trade with the Everett Silvertips —- a trade for this season for Everett, one for the future for Kamloops.  Forward Garrett Pilon and defenceman Ondrej Vala, both 19, are on their way to the Silvertips for two 17-year olds — forward Orrin Centazzo, defenceman Montana Onyebuchi, and prospects Kalen Ukrainetz and Nathanael Hinds.   The Blazers also get a first round pick in 2019 and a fourth-round pick in 2019.   Centazzo, a fifth-round bantam draft in 2015, has 6 goals and 5 assists for 11 points in 40 games in his first season in the league.   Onyebuchi, also a 2015 bantam draft in 2015, has 3 goals and 7 assists for 11 points in 38 games.

Pilon was the Blazers scoring leader this season with 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points in 39 games.  Vala had 7 goals and 13 points for 20 points in 31 games.   Both are NHL signed players, Pilon with Washington and Vala with Dallas, and are expected to turn pro next season.
