KAMLOOPS — The Victoria Royals rallied from deficits of 3-0 and 4-1 to defeat the Kamloops Blazers 5-4 in overtime.

On KIBIHT night at the Sandman Centre, KIBIHT alumnus Nick Chyzowski opened the scoring just 51 seconds into the first period. Garrett Pilon with his 18th of the season and Travis Walton his first gave the Blazers a 3-0 lead after one.

At 14:52 of the second Tyler Soy got Victoria on the board. A minute and two seconds later Joe Gatenby restored the Blazers three-goal lead. That lasted less than a minute before Dino Kambeitz scored at 16:52.

Victoria scored on a power play at 10:12 of the third period to get within one, and just over four minutes later Matthew Phillips tied the game.

It went to three on three overtime where it ended on the first shot, with Phillips setting up Chaz Reddekopp for the game-winner.

The Blazers outshot Victoria 36-35.
