Thompson, Brown from Kamloops lose at B.C. Scotties

KAMLOOPS — Karla Thompson has her first loss at the B.C. Scotties.

The Kim Slattery rink from Vernon with Alyssa Kyllo from Kamloops throwing last rocks scored with the hammer in the 10th end for a 5-4 win over Thompson.

The Slattery/Kyllo rink at 3-3 kept its hopes alive for a tie breaker.

Thompson, who has already clinched a page playoff, is in a 5-1 tie with Diane Gushulak, who defeated Corryn Brown of Kamloops 9-4.

Brown is in a 3/4 4-and-2 tie.

Brown plays the Slattery/Kyllo rink in the final round robin draw at 2pm while Thompson and Gushulak meet in a game that will decide first place going into the page playoffs.
