KAMLOOPS — Two Kamloops rinks top the standings after the first two draws at the B.C. Scotties women's curling playdowns in Victoria.

Karla Thompson, who opened with a win last night, scored three with the hammer in the 11th end this morning to defeat Randi Ludwar 7-4.

Thompson was the 2016 provincial champion.

Corryn Brown, playing in her first Scotties, scored two in the 10th end for a 5-4 win over Kayte Gyles.

Thompson and Brown are both 2-and-0, the only undefeated rinks in the eight team field.

The Kim Slattery rink from Vernon is 1-and-0 following a loss this morning.

Alyssa Kyllo from Kamloops throws last rocks for the Slattery rink.
