Kamloops rinks open with wins at B.C. Scotties

KAMLOOP — Kamloops rinks opened with wins at the B.C. women's curling championship.

2016 provincial champion Karla Thompson defeated Nanaimo's Kesa Van Osch 8-5.

Former Canadian junior champion Corryn Brown was a 7-5 winner over Holly Donaldson of Victoria.

The Kim Slattery rink from Vernon also won its first game.

Alyssa Kyllo from Kamloops is throwing last rocks for the Slattery rink and scored with the hammer in the 11th end for an 8-7 win over Kayte Gyles from New Westminster.
