KAMLOOPS — Kelowna’s RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating after three people were found dead in a home in the Rutland area of Kelowna.

One male is in custody.

RCMP say on December 19 at approximately 5 p.m., Kelowna RCMP were called to the residence.

Upon attending, police located three deceased individuals.

RCMP say the deaths appear to be suspicious and therefore the Kelowna Serious Crime Unit was called to investigate.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the BC Coroners Service are also assisting in the investigation.

“This investigation is in its infancy stages,” says Cst. Lesley Smith. “RCMP continue to secure the property as our serious crimes and specially trained forensic investigators examine the inside of the residence.”

Police cruisers descended on the home and it is currently surrounded by police tape.

Neighbours say a man, his wife and their two daughters reside at the residence.

They say the man was last seen yesterday at around 5:00-5:30 p.m.
