KAMLOOPS — A 23 year old Kamloops man is in police custody after allegedly breaking into a car outside a Juniper Ridge home this morning.

RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the arrest was made just after 4 a.m., after police received a report from a resident on Nechako Drive of a man inside their vehicle.

She says police quickly attended the area to find the suspect had run into a forested area. With the help of police dog services the suspect was located and arrested.

The suspect is from Kamloops and is known to police. Shelkie says police will be recommending charges of theft.
