BC Assessment contacting property owners affected by wildfires

KAMLOOPS — BC Assessment wants property owners affected by last summer’s wildfires to be aware of possible changes to assessments next year.
“Over the past few months, we have been identifying and reviewing the property damage that occurred from the wildfires this past summer,” says Jarret Krantz, deputy assessor for northern BC. “We have been focused on ensuring the current property conditions are used to determine 2018 property assessments.”
BC Assessment says it is confident it has contacted impacted property owners in northern BC but says it’s still possible that some property owners need to be identified in the Cariboo region.
If you have been impacted by the wildfires and haven’t been in contact with BC Assessment, you are advised to call BC Assessment at 1 (866) 825-8322 ext. 26405 as soon as possible.
