KAMLOOPS — Mounties in Williams Lake made an arrest yesterday with the help of man’s best friend.

It all started when police received a report of a break and enter in progress at a home in the 500 block of 4th Avenue North just before 4 p.m. Thursday.

RCMP Insp. Jeff Pelley says Police Dog Services along with uniformed officers attended the home and noticed someone had broken in.

“Police entered the residence and informed the suspect that a police dog was present,” he says. “The suspect still attempted to flee and was arrested by the police officers and police dog ‘Grimm’ inside the residence. The suspect did sustain injuries from the police dog during the apprehension and he was assessed at Cariboo Memorial Hospital.”
