KAMLOOPS — Sad news this morning for anybody who has ever worked as a flag person.

66 yr old Isabel Burroughs, the flag person hit by a vehicle south of Vernon in November, has passed away in hospital with her husband at her side.

Traci Jeeves, Owner of Okanagan Traffic Control confirmed the news this morning.

It is not known what charges will result against the 75 year old driver of the car that hit her.

About 80 traffic control people lined the highway south of Vernon to show support as Burroughs lay in a coma in hospital and to create awareness of safety issues for drivers going through construction zones.

Burroughs was celebrating her 66th birthday at the time of the incident. She never regained consciousness.
