KAMLOOPS — Police say yesterday's fatal trailer park fire which claimed the life of a senior citizen in Barriere wasn't suspicious.

The blaze broke out Thursday afternoon in a trailer in the Sunset Heights Mobile Home Park.

Police say fire crews arrived to find smoke and flames billowing from the residence. Upon arrival they located the 79 year old victim already dead inside.

"The cause of the fire has not been definitively determined but it appears to be non-suspicious at this time," Cpl. Robert Welsman of the Barriere RCMP told CFJC Today.

Welsman wouldn't say whether or not anyone else was in the trailer at the time the fire broke out and isn't releasing the deceased woman's name.

"That will be the responsiblity of the BC Coroners Service."
