WolfPack women’s basketball sweep in Mount Royal

 CALGARY, AB—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team brought something extra with them when they packed for this weekend’s road games in Calgary.  The ‘Pack brought brooms.

They used them to sweep the Mount Royal University Cougars on their own turf taking game two Saturday (Nov 25). The score was 70-64.  The pesky Cougars, who are still looking for their first win in 10 starts had a hugely successful second half to make the score close.

The sweep moves the WolfPack to 6-4 on the year.

SYNOPSIS

The WolfPack got out to a big lead and led 22-6 after the first quarter and were up 40-19 at the half. Mount Royal had a big second half as they outscored Thompson Rivers 46-30.

TRU was led offensively by Michelle Bos (4th year, guard, Surrey, BC) with 17. Kanesha Reeves (4th year, guard, Kamloops, BC) came off the bench to tally 14 with Leilani Carney (3rd year, guard, Burnaby, BC) contributing 12 points.

Mount Royal’s top scorers were Michelle Tiffany and Erin Kehrig with 15 points apiece. Becky Nash had 16 rebounds including 14 on the defensive glass.
