Search intensifies for missing Coquitam dogwalker

COQUITLAM — An increasingly “urgent” search resumes this morning in suburban
Vancouver for a 56-year-old woman and the three dogs she was walking
when she disappeared Monday afternoon.

Annette Poitras  was walking through Coquitlam’s
Westwood Plateau not far from her home, in an area very popular with
hikers and dog walkers.

Dozens of members from search teams across Metro Vancouver spent
Monday night and all day yesterday scouring the rugged,
waterway-laced region without finding any trace of Poitras or the
dogs.

They’re hopeful she has found shelter with the pets and is
awaiting rescue but efforts to find her have been complicated by
heavy rain and low cloud, although temperatures in the search area
are forecast to be very mild today
