Heat quell the Storm

KAMLOOP — The Chase Heat broke a 3-3 tie with just under 13 minutes left and added an empty net goal to defeat the Kamloops Storm 5-3.

Kolten Moore scored twice for the Heat while two of the Storms goals were by specialty teams --- one on the power play and one shorthanded --- Curtis Magas scored all three for the Storm.

Chase has won three of four against Kamloops in the season series.

The third place Heat have opened an 11 point lead over the fourth place Storm in the Birks Division.
