KAMLOOPS — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97, just north of Williams Lake.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says it occurred just after 10 p.m. Sunday night on Highway 97 at Roberston Road between McLeese Lake and Wildwood.

"RCMP investigators determined that a 2006 Acura CSX 4 door sedan driven by a male driver from Comox was southbound on Highway 97, when the vehicle crossed the centre line and side swiped a northbound Dodge 2006 Dodge one ton pick-up truck. The impact caused the Dodge truck to overturn in the northbound curb lane trapping the male driver inside the vehicle."

He says the 44-year-old Kitimat driver of the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moskaluk says the investigation into the collision continues.
