Kamloops' Thompson rink drops first game at pre-trials

KAMLOOPS — The Road to the Roar Olympic curling pre-trials are underway in Summerside, PEI.

Fourteen men's and fourteen women's rinks are playing for two berths in each for next months Olympic trials in Ottawa.

2016 B.C. women's champion Karla Thompson from Kamloops played in the opening draw this afternoon.

Thompson took on Kerri Einarson and lost 11-7 to the team from Winnipeg.

After falling behind 7-4 the Thompson rink rallied with one in the 7th and a steal of two in the 8th end to tie.

But Einarson scored four in the 10th for the win.

The Jim Cotter/John Morris rink from Vernon and Kelowna is one of the 14 in the men's pre-trials.
