KAMLOOPS — Firearms, brass knuckles and drugs.

Those were just some of the items the Kamloops RCMP seized following a search warrant on Holly Avenue last Friday (Oct. 27).

The search followed the shooting on Oct. 23 where two males were injured in a home on Nelson Avenue. That shooting led to the search on Holly Avenue.

“Four firearms were located in the residence, one of them was loaded,” says Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “Also located was ammunition, brass knuckles, bear spray, a mace, a taser and the identification of 37 different people (driver’s licenses, birth certificates, social security cards, Care Cards), 14 of which were reported stolen.”

She says marijuana was also recovered along with an unknown white powder that was sent to Health Canada for analysis.

Shelkie says the items police seized were concerning to them because the house is a split-level condominium.

“The residence that was searched is situated below another residence where a family with small children reside. Furthermore, the condo is located in close proximity to Arthur Hatton Elementary School. Kamloops RCMP have been in contact with the landlord of the property.”

In the meantime the investigation into the shooting on Nelson Avenue and the seized items on Holly Avenue continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
