KAMLOOPS — A 58 year old Chase man is facing charges after a rifle he was carrying accidentally fired and injured a woman in the shoulder.

Chase RCMP Cpl. Scott Linklater says the incident occurred on Oct. 15 in the Adams Lake area.

“The man stumbled causing the rifle to fire, striking a woman in the shoulder,” he says. “The man was arrested for charges including possessing a firearm without a licence and careless use of a firearm. He was later released on a promise to appear in court.”

Luckily, Linklater says the woman is okay.
