KAMLOOPS — Kelowna may be the next stop for searchers trying to locate 67-year David William Jeff.

A search in Kamloops yesterday failed to turn up any trace of the missing Williams Lake man.

Jeff was evacuated during the wildfires this July, and hasn't been seen since then. Intermittent searches have failed to turn up any trace of Jeff, and yesterday, family and friends gathered in Kamloops to see if they could pick up any trace of him.

Chief Charlene Belleau of the Alkali First Nation says they just want to ensure Jeff is safe..

She says they want to find out if he's safe, first and foremost. She adds "if he wants to return to Williams Lake, we'll make sure he gets home. If he doesn't, that's his choice too. We just want to ensure that his family knows he's safe.

Belleau says they've ruled out a couple of potential sightings, but they may check out one in Kelowna next.
