KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Storm might have lost last night’s game to the Sicamous Eagles, but there was a local winner: The Kamloops and District branch of the BC SPCA held a unique fundraiser at last night’s game. While hot-dogging is frowned upon in most rinks, last night was an exception.
The Dachshund Race, also known as Wieners on Ice helped raise over $4100 for the Kamloops SPCA. Kamloops Storm owner Barry Dewar says there will be another Weiner dog race – maybe even as soon as later this season.
