KAMLOOPS — A 19 year old Kamloops man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly attempted to steal a bait car.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police were notified that a bait car was being activated at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.

"Police officers quickly attended the area where the vehicle had been driven and the suspect was arrested without incident," she says.

Shelkie says the suspect was released with a promise to appear in court at a future date and is facing charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.

She says the suspect is known to police.
