KAMLOOPS — RCMP have a 37 year old Kamloops man in custody after a late-night robbery at a north shore hotel.

Staff Sergeant Robert Daly says about 11:00 PM last night, the man went into the lobby of the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in the 600 block of Tranquille Road and demanded the cash till from the night clerk.

No weapon was produced, but the clerk turned over the till, and the man took off on foot with the cash.

Police set up a perimeter and brought in the dog team.

About 1:45 AM, the suspect was arrested.  The man has no fixed address.

He is known to police and will appear in court today on several charges.

The clerk was not injured in the incident.
