Vancouver, B.C. — The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack’s second match at the Best of the West women’s volleyball tournament was shorter than they had hoped.

The WolfPack moved from the Langley Events Centre where they fell to Alberta on Thursday to War Memorial Arena at UBC on Friday.

The WolfPack fell in straight sets to the University of Calgary Dinos. The scores were 25-20, 25-19, 28-26.

“We came out flat and looked tired,” stated TRU head coach Chad Grimm.  “ That’s no excuse though. We struggled with the ability to sustain focus.  Calgary played some scrappy defense.”

Statistics were not available.

The WolfPack will close out their exhibition season with a controlled scrimmage Saturday (Oct 14) against the Mount Royal Cougars.

TRU will begin its 2017-18 Canada West regular season at home next Friday (Oct 20).  Their opponents will be the MacEwan University Griffins of Edmonton, Alberta.  The two will tangle on the Warner Rentals court at the Tournament Capital Centre starting at 6 pm.
