KAMLOOPS — Good news for ranchers and farmers in British Columbia as they can now access the $20 million 2017 Canada-British Columbia Wildfires Recovery Initiative.

The money has been made available to help them rebuild their livelihoods following this summer's devastating wildfires.

Applications are available at FrontCounterBC, Ministry of Agriculture offices, or by clicking here.

The program will cover "extraordinary costs incurred by agriculture producers," including:

- Costs related to ensuring animal health and safety;

- Feed, shelter and transportation costs; and

- Costs to re-establish perennial crop and pasture production damaged by fire.

Farmers and ranchers wanting assistance with the application process can call 1-888-332-3352 or email: [email protected].
