KAMLOOPS — Local non-profit JUMP is seeking turkeys and volunteers for its fifth annual Thanksgiving Community Supper this Saturday at 4 p.m.

Located at 185 Royal Avenue on the North Shore, JUMP offers food and community for those in need.

"We expect 100 people as we normally have had, sometimes more, the past five years," says volunteer coordinator Glenn Hilke, who says pepole can either donate a turkey or make a $10-20 etransfer donation to glennhilke@yahoo.com

He says JUMP will even pick up turkeys from those without the means to drop them off. Those people can reach Hilke by phone at 250-879-0465.

He notes it's a privilege to help those in need during the holidays.

"Thanksgiving is something that most people look forward to. It's a time that brings families together. So, we want to extend that privilege to those who don't have the support and stability. We're compassionate in Kamloops. Our motto in Kamloops is 'Making it Shine' and we want to make it make it shine for everyone."
