WolfPack men’s volleybal loses two exhibitions to Trinity

LANGLEY, BC—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack have ended their first weekend of exhibition men’s volleyball play with a pair of defeats.

The WolfPack dropped a couple of three set decisions Friday (Sept 22) and Saturday (Sept 23) against the Trinity Western University Spartans. Both matches were played in Langley, BC.

On Friday: the scores were 25-19,25-21,25-18.

Saturday’s scores were 26-24,25-16, 25-13.

“We played a great first set tonight,’ said WolfPack head coach Pat Hennelly. “Then we lost ground on their tough passing.”

Hennelly credited Charlie Bringloe (3rd year, outside hitter, Waterloo, ON) and Issac Smit (3rd year, Kelowna, BC) for doing a great job of passing.

TRU opens up its 2017-18 Canada West regular season on the Warner Rentals court at the Tournament Capital Centre on Friday, October 20th. Their opponents for the opening weekend will be the MacEwan University Griffins of Edmonton, Alberta. That opening match will have a 7:45 pm start time.
