WolfPack Baseball takes two from Okanagan College

Kelowna, BC – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team started their road trip on a high note but winning two games against the Okanagan College Coyotes. They won game one 12-8 and game two in 11 innings 10-9.

Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, WA) was stellar in the first game, throwing seven innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk. He struck out three batters. Bryant Jameus (Kamloops, BC) allowed one unearned run in relief on two walks.

Adam Filmon (Winnipeg, MB) went 3-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in game one. Josh Hillis (Calgary, AB) went 1-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and a walk. Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) went 2-2 with a RBI and a run scored. Matt Pidlisecky (Abbostford, BC) went 2-2 with a RBI and two runs scored. Connor McKenzie (Kamloops, BC) went 1-4 with a RBI double. Zac Comeault (Pitt Meadows, BC) went 2-3 with a run scored.

Justin Beaumont (Winnipeg, MB) started the game but came out because of injury. He allowed three runs (one earned) on a hit, a walk and a hit batter. Joe Siniscalchi (Burnaby, BC) threw 1.2 innings, allowing three runs. Cole Paquin (Regina, SK) came into the game in relief, throwing four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out three batters. Qwinn Nesplak (White Rock, BC) was very good and recorded the win, despite allowing the Coyotes to tied the game in the ninth. He tossed four innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three. Matt Pidlisecky got the save in the 11th inning, getting the Coyotes second baseman to line into a double play.

Kyron Smith (Maple Ridge, BC) had a good second game, going 1-3 with a two RBI triple and a run scored. Vance Fode went 2-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Adam Filmon went 2-2 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) and Nick Peters (Maple Ridge, BC) each brought in a RBI. Josiah Williams (Maple Ridge, BC) went 1-5 with a walk and two runs scored. Jackson Dartnell (Winnipeg, MB) collected a double.

The WolfPack will now make the long bus ride to Calgary as they take on the University of Calagry Dinos for the rest of the weekend. They play at 11am and 2pm on Saturday, the 23rd and at 10am and 1 pm on Sunday, the 24th.
