Provincial budget consultations coming to Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents have been invited to have their say on next year’s provincial budget.

The all-party Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services will be in Kamloops on Oct. 12, 2017. The Kamloops stop is one of many across the province. The location is yet to be determined.

The yearly consultations are held in accordance with the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act and are based on the Budget 2018 Consultation Paper prepared by the Ministry of Finance.

If you can’t make the meeting you can also make a written, audio or video submission, or complete an online survey.

Registration for the public hearings opens Thursday at 9 a.m. You can register at www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/finance.

The consultation closes at 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 and the committee will release its report by Nov. 15.
