Power restored following Kamloops crash

KAMLOOPS — UPDATED  (Sept. 19 1:03) Power has been restored to over 4000 BC Hydro customers in Kamloops.

This after a vehicle sheared off a power pole on Batchelor Drive during the 10:00 a.m. hour Tuesday.

Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the incident which affected Hydro customers in the Batchelor and Westsyde areas.

 

EARLIER — A crash has caused a major power outage in north Kamloops Tuesday morning.

Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to Batchelor Drive during the 10:00 a.m. hour, finding a vehicle had sheared off a power pole.

That resulted in a line down on the road, leading fire crews to block access to Batchelor Drive.

The line down also resulted in an outage to more than 4000 customers, mostly in the Batchelor and Westsyde areas.
