WolfPack Split Doubleheader Against Okanagan A’s

Kamloops, BC – After a come-from-behind victory against the Universidad Technologica de Santiago on Friday night, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team was back on the field Saturday (16th) for two exhibition games against the Okanagan A’s (Premier Baseball League). The ‘Pack came from behind again in the first game, winning 6-5 off a game-winning hit by Robert Scarr but fell 9-5 in game two.

 

The ‘Pack started a high-schooler in game one. Jordan Calibara (Kamloops, BC) started and threw 3.2 innings, allowing one run on one hit and four walks. He struck out one batter. Aaron Lemione (Winnipeg, MB) came into the game and threw 1.1 innings. Coach Ray Chadwick’s son Ty Chadwick (Kamloops, BC) came into the game to pitch in sixth inning. He allowed four runs on two hits and two walks. Cole Paquin (Regina, SK) threw 2.2 innings and ended up getting the win as the ‘Pack came back to force extra innings and won it in the 8th.

Robert Scarr (Tsawwassen, BC) had the best game offensively for the ‘Pack in game one as he collected the game tying hit in the seventh inning and the game-winning hit in the eighth inning. Scarr went 2-2 with a double, and two RBIs. Matt Pidlisecky (Abbotsford, BC) had a bases-clearing double in the 5th inning. Jack Suhai had a RBI single.

Eric Turner got the ball in game two for the ‘Pack. He suffered the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and two walks. Jordy Cunningham (Ladner, BC) threw three innings, allowing one run on five hits. Matt Pidlisecky threw one perfect inning.

Pidlisecky and Scarr’s bats stayed hot in game two. Pidlisecky went 1-3 with a RBI double. Scarr went 1-2 with a RBI, a walk, hit by pitch and a run scored. Josh Hillis (Calgary, BC) collected two RBIs on a single. Malik James (Toronto, ONT) collected a RBI on a sacrifice fly.

The WolfPack will be back in action for two more exhibition games tomorrow against the Okanagan College Coyotes. That will make seven games in five days for the team. Both games are at Norbrock Stadium in Kamloops. Game times are at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
