KAMLOOPS — The Sandman Emergency Social Services (ESS) Reception Centre will remain open until at least Tuesday.

TNRD Information Officer Debbie Sell says the centre continues to serve approximetly 30 people primarily from the South Green Lake area.

"We haven't had any changes to the alerts and orders that are in place," said Sell. "We decided we would maintain the hours on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon so if anyone has to renew they had a place they can do that."

Sell say they're hopeful this weekend's rain will help the wildfire situation and get more people back into their homes.

With the Blazers season opener creeping up on September 23rd, Sell says they will decide next week whether or not to move locations.

The team is currently hosting games at McCarthur Island.
