KAMLOOPS — Garrett Pilon will be available to the Blazers for weekend pre-season games against the Kelowna Rockets.

Pilon was to fly to Florida where the Washington Capitals were going to play in a rookie tournament.

That tournament has been cancelled because of Hurricane Irma.

Pilon won't leave now until next week.

The Blazers play in Kelowna tomorrow night and then host the Rockets on Saturday.

Meanwhile the Florida Panthers have chartered a plane to fly their entire team and staff to Boston ahead of Irma.

Their home rink will be used as staging area for emergency equipment ahead of the Category 5 hurricane.
